On October 7th 2016, at around 12:44 p.m., officers from the Redding Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Canby Road regarding a stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers contacted all of the involved parties.
The investigation revealed that Robert Williams (18 years, of Redding) and Joseph Ryan (18 years, of Redding) were involved in a physical altercation with a neighbor, Nicolas Murray (22 years, of Redding). The involved subjects know each other and have had disagreements in the past. During the altercation, Williams received a non-life-threatening stab wound to the head and Ryan received a non-life-threatening laceration to his left shoulder area. Williams and Ryan were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.
The knives used in the stabbing were recovered at the scene. Murray was arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
